Why we painted this collection

Let’s be honest: a lot of what fills our homes is just… more.

But what most of us want is the opposite: less distraction, more connection.

This collection grew out of the moments that do that for us—still water, mountain quiet, the kind of light that makes everything feel possible again.

Our Story

We’re Anna and Chris Holmes—the husband-and-wife team behind Serenity in Color.

I paint full-time, creating from memory, mood, and photographs. I’m always chasing places that feel like peace—art that makes home feel more like an exhale.

Chris paints from real places here in Tennessee—ponds, riverbanks, and morning light—often inspired by time outdoors with his father and uncle. His work carries memory and story… but it speaks to anyone who feels better near water and trees.
