She’s for the moment after the conference call with your boss ends 30 minutes late and your soul has quietly left the building. Not because she fixes anything. She absolutely does not. But she does give your eye somewhere bright to land while your brain tries to become useful again.

And yes, LadyB — because I know them as ladybirds, not ladybugs, and we do not need to settle this across the Atlantic today.

She actually started as a ladybird on a ceramic piece for a charity auction. I painted her with a bluebell, then immediately wondered how she would come out in oil.

So I tried it.

That little experiment became LadyB, my first oil insect painting and the first piece in the Tiny Miracles collection. Apparently she had plans.

She’s like spotting a flash of red in the garden when you only went out to check if the basil had given up. Small thing. Big presence.
