Morpho is an original butterfly oil painting on an 8" round canvas from my Tiny Miracles collection.

It’s small, but it knows exactly what it’s doing: giving your eye somewhere to land above the lamp, the books, and the plant that may or may not be holding a grudge.

But the blue is not small.

It’s electric blue, almost lit from the inside — the kind of color that wakes up a corner without asking you to redo the wall or pretend that blank patch was “airy.”

The round canvas earns its keep too. It breaks up all the rectangles, especially if your gallery wall has started looking like a meeting of very well-behaved picture frames.

And there’s a little secret in this one.

The morpho butterfly has that vivid blue top side, but underneath, it’s muted brown and patterned in a way that reminds me of old carpet in a house viewing. The kind you mentally rip out before you’ve even found the kitchen.

You don’t see that side in the painting, but knowing it’s there changes the blue. Suddenly it feels like it’s keeping something to itself.

Small, bright, and not just there to fill a gap.
